HEFCE Review of Modern Foreign Languages
In 2009 a review was commissioned by HEFCE to investigate the health of modern foreign languages provision in higher education.
This review, carried out by Professor Michael Worton was published in October 2009 and is available from the HEFCE website.
Since the publication of the Worton review, the UCML has been working with the LLAS Subject Centre, the Association of University Language Centres (AULC) and CiLT to develop action plans in response to the challenges presented by the review. More information will be made available via the UCML website in due course. In the meantime, UCML members are kept abreast of developments via the members' mailing list and at member plenary meetings.
