UCML Chair gives plenary talk at LLAS conference in Edinburgh
Jim Coleman, Chair of UCML, gave a plenary talk entitled Shaping the Future of Languages in Higher Education at Language Futures: Languages in Higher Education 2012 conference, co-sponsored by UCML and held in Edinburgh 5-6 July.
Jim's talk summarised a range of contexts for languages in Higher Education, highlighting UCML activities including the Shaping the Future of Languages project (see link in the lefthand menu of this site), the Year Abroad Project (see link to Projects in the lefthand menu of this site) and funding arrangements for the Year Abroad, recruitment challenges and statistics and looking forward to the bright future he believes is there for those of us in languages in Higher Education if we continue to work together and to harness the strong messages available to support us.
