Nov 2011: Launching the 'Year Abroad Graduate Project'

With generous support from the British Academy, UCML is working on a project to demonstrate the value of the year abroad to UK graduates and to potential funding bodies. Working with ThirdYearAbroad.com,we are seeking to gather short reports from graduates – whether language specialists or not – on the importance that the year abroad has had for them, in terms of their skill set, their careers and their lives.

Selected reports will be published on ThirdYearAbroad.com in December and used by the British Academy for a Position Paper, and for a high-profile launch event at the British Academy in March 2012, involving international participants and UK opinion-formers from Government and business.

We need your help: In order to gather the material for this project, we need the help of UCML members in contacting their alumni to ask them to participate. It is very easy, using the form on the project website. The deadline for receipt of submissions is 9th December 2011

There is more information in the flyer you can download below.
